Coucou

Je suis désolée de vous avoir abandonné ces derniers temps, mais mon ordinateur était tombé en panne.
Je fais le trie de mes photos, et je vous montre mes ouvrages.
À tout de suite,

Sorry to have disappeared for a short while but my computer broke down. I am sorting some photos and will upload them shortly.

Stay tuned,

Slowly but surely

Day 2 … slowly but surely!

Make it a good day!

Work in Progress

Here it is, my next project has begun. A shawl! I am using larger needles and I like the way it looks so far.

Hello dear friends,

I realize that i did not post a photo of the potholders that i knitted recently. Here they are:

Bonjour mes amis,

Je me rends compte que je n’ai pas posté les maniques que j’ai tricoté récemment. Voici donc l’ouvrage terminé:

Well I have started to work on my UFOs – unfinished Objects – I cannot believe that I let it drag so long .

Here is my pile of threads for 4 or 5 of my projects. I will post a photo later on, I am off to work!

Choose to make it a good day!

Mes jeux Olympiques

My Olympics games,

The Olympic games in Beijing have started, but here in Austin, TX, they are going as well. I joined the “knitting and crochet” Olympics, organized by Ravelry, and signed up to “compete” in the event of “WIP Wrestling”, which is about finishing a bunch of projects. The project needs to be a challenge to complete in 17 days.  For me, it is about pulling out knitting stuffs that i shoved in a bag. All there is to do is a little sewing here and there, it is so simple, it frustrates me!

Here in Texas, taking a car ride means driving at least 5 to 6 hours, so I stay busy in the passenger seat knitting (no, I do not knit as I drive).  I have enjoyed making round dishcloths. My first ones were 1 solid color, then I begun working with 2 and sometimes 3 colors, alternating stiches as well. Baby hats and baby blankets are fun too!  Yes, there are many gifts on this blanket that are overdue!

I am competing for Team French, check-out our blog! You will meet a group of very talented women

Here is my pile to finish before the flame goes up on August 24th:

I am also knitting a shawl, but I am not pleased with it so far. I think bigger needles will give a nice effect.  I thought, I was prepared, or maybe I am too picky! I hope to have some photos posted soon.

Make it a great day!

Sunday evening

Nothing new is happening in the world of knitting. I have undone and undone all my work this week. I am not pleased with colors, shapes, needles…. you name it! It is not working for me. I am also very unsastified  with one of my project whose dateline is tomorrow.

The only thing that relaxes me is cooking. This evening I opened the fridge and grabbed some ground turkey breast, a couple of carrots, half a green bell pepper. Chopped half a yellow onion and sauteed it in olive oil. I added the meat and stirred it until it was cooked. Mixed the carrots, bell pepper, diced tomatoes and chicken broth and cooked all this soup together for a while. Oops i forgot the sprinkle of salt and pepper and thyme. Finally i added a  can of navy beans and let it cooked an extra 15 minutes.  Meanwhile, i grabbed a huge bouquet of basil and added a clove of garlic, some olive oil and a touch of Romano cheese.  I made this incredible pesto. I served a teaspoon of the pesto on top of the soup. It was to die for!

Que c’est bon le pistou!

Hamilton Pool

Yesterday was a good day! We discovered Hamilton Pool. We were not able to swim since the water did not meet the safe standard. We hike some of the trails and had a grand time.

Here are some of the photos of the pool:

Sunday evening, I had the opportunity to go downtown Austin and ventured to the Congress Avenue Bridge, home of 750,000 to 1.5 millions bats. They put quite a show every evening around 830pm. I was armed with my Canon Elan 7N – yes, I still use film – and my Canon Powershot A570 IS  – who knows! -  I am still needing to pick up my film from the lab but thought i would include some outfocus shots, proving i was there :) .

The bridge where the bats reside:

Oops: turn around, the show is on the other side:
